[Recipe] Nussecken

Hey guys :)

So, today is the time to show you another recipe. Sometimes I get in the mood to just cook and bake all day and then I am really excited and I search for good recipes everywhere and then I bake or cook like a million different things. I got in such a mood and I found this really great recipe with nuts and all this yummy kind of stuff in it. I haven't done a recipe on this blog for a really long time now, so I thought I would just share this really yummy recipe with you.

  • First we're gonna do the dough for the Nussecken. For this, we will just mix 130g of butter or margarine, 130g of sugar, 300g of flour, 2 eggs and about one teaspoon of baking powder (I forgot it on the picture!) together. For me it worked to do it with clean (!) hands, so I just kneaded it a while until it was a smooth dough. The whole mixing thing is easier, if you use butter with room temperature!
  • After we just did the dough, we roll it on a greased cookie sheet and spread about 3 or 4 tablespoons apricot jam on it. If the dough is all sticky, you can just let it sit in the fridge for 20 minutes or so.
  • Then we heat 200g of sugar, 200g of butter or margarine and 2 packs of vanilla sugar in a pot up until the sugar is loosened up (gelöst). Then we stir in the 200g of ground (gemahlene) hazelnuts and 200g of chopped (gehackte) hazelnuts together with a bit of water. Don't take too much water, this will make the mixture too flowing. Put the butter-hazelnut-mixture on the rolled out dough.
  • We will bake this for 25 minutes at 175°. When it has finished, you take it out of the oven and cut the thing first in rectangles and then the rectangles in triangles. If you want to, then you can dip the Nussecken in chocolate.
In my opinion, you can make these Nussecken with pretty much every sort of nuts. You can use walnuts, almonds or maybe even pistachios if you know how you will chop and ground them.
Also, I just want to add, that you can do the whole thing without the apricot jam. I had to bake on two cookie sheets because there was a lot of the dough and the butter-nuts-mixture and I forgot on one cookie sheet to spread the apricot jam on the dough but it tastes delicious afterwards, anyway.
The source of this recipe and the picture of the Nussecken above is chefkoch but I translated the recipe to English and added a few tipps and a few other things. You get to the recipe here

I think that this recipe is really fabulous and delicious and I can't get enough of these Nussecken! Of course, it's not very healthy but it tastes just sooo incredibly great.. I can't even describe how it tastes but it is very yummy! :D

I hope you like the idea of showing some recipes I really like sometimes. If you want to, then I will show you some recipes for Christmas cookies as well.

I wish you all a wonderful day,

Nicole :)
